Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ReadyScore, how the scoring works, and what your results mean.
What is ReadyScore?
ReadyScore is a free, AI-scored diagnostic that evaluates your startup idea or founder readiness across the dimensions that actually predict success. You answer a set of questions, our scoring engine grades your responses, and you get a composite score with personalized insights — no account required.
How does the scoring work?
Each answer is evaluated by an AI scoring engine that grades your response on a 0–10 scale across the relevant pillar. Free-text answers are graded for specificity, realism, and evidence of genuine thought — not keyword matching. Your composite score is a weighted average of all pillar scores.
What are the two assessment paths?
ReadyScore offers two paths. The "I have an idea" path scores your business idea across 8 pillars like problem clarity, target customer, market reality, and defensibility. The "I've already started" path scores you as a founder across 6 personal pillars (grit, adaptability, execution, vision, resourcefulness, adversity tolerance) plus 4 business pillars (market, differentiation, economics, timing).
What is the Quick Score?
The Quick Score is a 5-question, 2-minute version of the idea assessment. It hits the most critical pillars to give you a rough score fast. If you want more accuracy, you can upgrade to the full 25-question assessment and your Quick Score answers carry forward — no repeat work.
Is ReadyScore free?
Yes. The core assessment is completely free — you get your composite score, score band, pillar breakdown, radar chart, and top strengths with no account and no payment. Entering your email unlocks the full report with risks, gap analysis, personalized next steps, and (for the idea path) kill shots and a validation roadmap.
What are kill shots?
Kill shots are the things that could sink your idea. Our AI identifies deal-breakers in your responses — blind spots you might not see. The first kill shot headline is shown free as a teaser. The full analysis (with severity levels and recommended actions) is unlocked when you enter your email.
What are the 8 idea pillars?
The idea path evaluates: Problem Clarity (is this a real problem?), Target Customer (who exactly are you selling to?), Market Reality (is the market big enough?), Competitive Landscape (who else is solving this?), Revenue Model (does the math work?), Go-to-Market (how do you get customers?), Defensibility (what stops copycats?), and Timing (is now the right moment?).
What are the 10 founder pillars?
The founder path evaluates 6 personal pillars — Grit, Adaptability, Execution, Vision, Resourcefulness, and Adversity Tolerance — plus 4 business pillars — Problem-Market Fit, Differentiation, Unit Economics, and Timing.
Can I take both assessments?
Yes. After completing one path, your results page offers a link to take the other. If you start with the idea path and then take the founder path, we skip the overlapping business questions and carry your idea scores forward — so you answer fewer questions the second time.
Is my data private?
Your answers are stored securely in our database and are never shared with third parties. We don't require an account or login. If you provide your email to unlock the full report, we use it only to send your results and (if you opted in) occasional tips. You can unsubscribe anytime.
How long does the assessment take?
The Quick Score takes about 2 minutes (5 questions). The full idea assessment takes about 10 minutes (25 questions). The founder assessment takes about 15 minutes (30 questions). There's no timer — go at your own pace.
